SUMMARY:Mornings on Main Webinar: Show Your Work: Turning Main Street Activities into Powerful Impact Stories
DESCRIPTION:Communicating the value of a Main Street program starts with turning everyday work into revitalization stories.  This webinar will explore how local Main Streets can use their activities, data, and community partnerships to illustrate impact, strengthen their perception, and elevate the story of downtown. Ivy Hagedorn from Downtown Joplin Alliance and Danelle O’Connell from Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc. will share their perspectives on connecting with different audiences and practical examples for turning routine program work into narratives that inspire support, engagement, and long‑term investment.\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIvy Hagedorn, Assistant Director, Downtown Joplin Alliance\nAfter growing up in the Joplin area and graduating from the local university, Ms. Hagedorn moved to Kansas City and Arizona for a time, only to repatriate back to Joplin a little over ten years ago. She started her own jewelry business, Tarnished Charm, and then joined the board of directors of Downtown Joplin Alliance and served terms as the Secretary and the Vice-President, before moving to a paid staff position in the winter of 2018. As staff, she was the founding director of the Empire Market, a four-season producer-only indoor farmers market now in its eighth year of operation. After holding other roles with the organization, Ms.Hagedorn moved into her current position with DJA and works to tell the story of all the good the non-profit does. \n\n\nDanelle Gregory, Executive Director, Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc.\nDanelle Gregory has worked in the Main Street field since 2008, beginning her career with the Main Street Parkville Association as an independent contractor before moving into the full-time director role. In 2015, she relocated to Middlesboro, Kentucky, to lead the Selling to the World pilot program, an initiative focused on helping local artisans and makers expand their businesses through online sales. The program later received federal grant funding to continue its work. Danelle returned to the Kansas City area in 2018, where she worked independently before joining Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc. as Executive Director in September 2021.\n\n\n\n\nThis webinar is brought to you by:\n              \nThis webinar is a private and public partnership with the Department of Economic Development, Main Street America, and Missouri Main Street Connection.\nThis institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer.\n
