Join Missouri Main Street Connection during our “Partner in Preservation” celebration. Experience the depth of heritage, richness of culture, and strength of community pride through the success of local Main Streets’ partnerships for their celebrations, advocacy, and initiatives.
Every community across Missouri has their own local history and bank of memories. During May, for Preservation Month, local Main Street programs present activities including tours and events to their community that celebrate their local history as well as advocate for the continued support of their mission to preserve buildings and the memories they hold. Some communities partner with their local historical societies or other groups to present these events as well.
The Historic Preservation ethic found in these Main Street comes from individuals’ dedication to protecting their community’s local assets and the Main Street Approach’s™ principles. It is the collaboration with Main Street America, National Trust for Historic Preservation, and other local, state, and national partners, that make successful revitalization possible.
