Main Street 101 Training
The Main Street 101 training series provides in-depth details on the Main Street Approach™. Board members, volunteers, and city officials benefit from learning about the four points of the Main Street Approach™, principles of Main Street, and best practices related to a comprehensive approach to downtown revitalization. The Approach’s methodology and structure have been used in over 2,000 communities across the country since the 1980’s.
The Main Street 101 online training is available free of charge. This program was developed by the Missouri Main Street Connection staff with the help of specialists and partners.

Certification
The certification test is a 50-question exam with a combination of multiple choice and true/false questions. This test was designed to assess the knowledge you gained after completing the Main Street 101 course. Once the exam has been completed and a passing score has been received, the Certificate of Completion can be downloaded or printed. Additionally, those who complete and pass this certification will receive a printed copy of their certificate at the annual Missouri’s Premier Downtown Revitalization Conference if it is completed before July 15th. Those who complete it after July 15th will receive a printed copy at the following conference.
This certification test is a requirement for Board Members and Executive Directors of Main Street programs in Missouri with a program agreement. Consult your program agreement for more details.
Certification details:
- 50 question online exam.
- Questions based upon the four points and Main Street principles.
- Questions are either multiple choice or true/false.
- One hour to complete the exam.
- Must pass with a score of 80% or higher.
